FAQ

Questions you might be holding

Honest answers about the approach, the logistics, and how this care fits with the rest of your support.

The approach

Will this turn into another diet?

No. This practice is weight-inclusive and anti-diet. You won't be handed a plan built on restriction or told to change your body.

Will I be weighed?

Weight isn't used as a measure of progress here. [CONFIRM: Apryl's policy on weight, including when it's medically relevant in eating disorder care]

What does “weight-inclusive” mean?

It means respecting bodies of all sizes, and not assuming weight loss is needed for health, worth, or a good relationship with food.

Getting started

Is my struggle “serious enough”?

You don't need to reach a certain point to deserve support. If food or your body takes up more of your life than you'd like, that's reason enough to talk.

How do I book?

Through the secure booking page. Scheduling and intake forms happen there, not on this website, to protect your privacy.

Who can work with Apryl?

Adults located in California. All appointments are virtual.

Cost and logistics

How much does it cost?

$200 for the initial appointment and $150 for follow-ups. This is a private-pay practice.

Do you take insurance?

No, this practice is private pay. [CONFIRM: whether superbills are provided for out-of-network reimbursement]

What's the cancellation policy?

[PLACEHOLDER: cancellation and rescheduling policy]

Your care team

How is a dietitian different from a therapist?

A dietitian focuses on nutrition, eating, and your relationship with food. A therapist addresses the emotional and psychological side. Many people benefit from both, working together.

Will you talk with my therapist or doctor?

With your written permission, Apryl can coordinate with your therapist, physician, or treatment team.

What if I need more support than this?

If a higher level of care or a different provider would serve you better, Apryl will talk that through with you and help with referrals.

What if I'm in crisis?

This practice doesn't provide emergency care. If you're in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.
